Houston has an incredible live theatre scene. Why bother with a movie when you can see some of the best acting, live before your very eyes. Whether you are catching a comedy, drama, or musical you will be blown away by the talented actors performing in front of you. Some of our favorite spots for a theatre date in August are The Alley Theatre, Stages, and A.D. Players at the George Theatre.
2) Uncork Romance at a Wine Bar~ Cheers to Love
Nothing says “we’re fancy now” like a wine date. Houston has some truly fantastic wine bars that are perfect spots to uncork some romance with your sweetheart. We love Mutiny Wine Room, The Library, and Envy Wine Room. No matter which wine bar you pick, this is a smooth way to elevate any weeknight into a grape love story.
3) Romance in the Garden~ Let Love Bloom
It’s time to stop and smell the roses! Head to one of Houston’s incredible gardens and enjoy the scenery and serenity as you stroll along, hand-in-hand, with your sweetheart. We love the Houston Botanic Garden, Mercer Botanic Gardens, and McGovern Centennial Gardens. These gardens are all great spots to propose too! We recommend going earlier in the day when it’s cooler.

Baldwin, and La Colombe d’Or Hotel. Or check out a cozy bed & breakfast or guest house. We love the Maple Creek Bed & Breakfast, Houston Towers Inn, and La Maison in Midtown. If you want to get out of Houston and go on an adventure, plan a baecation to one of our other Texas Romantic Spots like Austin, Fredericksburg, Fort Worth, Waco, San Antonio, or Galveston.
