I’ve stayed here several times and the only complaint I have is that the valet service is always subpar. Understaffed, long waits and unfriendly. If it wasn’t for Josh the bellman we would never stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay at the C. Baldwin Curio Hotel. The staff is kind and compassionate about making their guest feel like family. I truly enjoyed the valet service. Thanks to Jo, he was a gentleman making sure we did not carry any suitcases or open any doors, and it did it with a warm welcoming smile. 10/10, I highly recommend!

I stayed here during a recent trip and overall it was an average experience. The room was okay, but nothing really stood out. The A/C didn’t work very well and the in-room fridge didn’t seem to cool properly. I brought both up to management, but they weren’t resolved during my stay.
The restaurant in the hotel was on the expensive side. There is a food hall in the adjacent building with more affordable lunch options, which was convenient, but dinner options nearby are limited if you’re looking for something reasonably priced.
The location is a plus, especially being close to the Hobby Center for Performing Arts.
Overall, it’s a decent option, but I expected more given the price point and brand.

Where to begin... We travel very much, are Hilton Diamond Members & part of friends & family, and were deeply disappointed by C. Baldwin. It is, by far, the worst Curio Collection we've ever stayed in. Please take a look at the pictures! From check-in being, albeit quick, at 60 seconds max; it lacked personable reception or concierge or any hospitality at all. We had drinks at the bar and at outside at the restaurant. While the food is good and the wait-staff were attentive, the day shift bartender was borderline rude and the prices are a bit more than local offerings. The evening shift were much better. You will get yours measured to the mark and not a drop more!! There is a wide variety of specialty cocktails. The rooms are nice, being Diamond we were upgraded, no offer of water, 1 washcloth for 2 ppl, and the the filthy condition was appalling. I spared you a pic of the dried urine on the toilet seat that I had to clean myself! The cleanliness is horrifying. We went to a baseball game early and upon return at cocktail hour/dinner time the room was never made up AND NO we didnt have a do not disturb or any notice on the door for that matter. The bed wasn't even made. For this level of hotel to have dirt, grime, crumbs, splashes, stains and just overall in need of TLC is sad. No glassware, just plastic in plastic. They do have a Yesla to bring your to the stadium, not from. The location is not ce tral and a bit off the beaten path but just plan on walking, renting a car or public transit. Rooms have no refrigerator or hair dryer.. There is a clothing steamer and a safe. We won't be back and don't recommend you stay either.

I had a great experience at this hotel! The entire staff, from the valets to guest services to the wait staff, were attentive, friendly, and courteous. When we arrived, it was early, and our room was not ready yet, which wasn't a problem. We mentioned that we were on our way to the matinee at The Hobby Center, and the gentleman at the desk immediately offered their complimentary--yes, complimentary--shuttle. Of course, they held our luggage for us.

We ate in the bar that evening. The bar is beautiful. The food was just okay, but it wasn't bad. However, our server was attentive and courteous.

The breakfast buffet in the morning left a little to be desired, considering the price, but I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. I also liked our server; i had a very nice conversation with him.

I will definitely stay here again. I didn't have a single negative experience.

came for my bday valet never let us open a door, rooms were really nice, maintenance restocked our towels & water before we even noticed. took us 10-15 minutes to get everywhere we needed. had a blow dryer, steamer, & a safe.

cons are minuscule like no toothbrushes or paste, no handwash, no robes, no mini fridge (very minuscule) definitely could live without but the vibes of this hotel feels like it should be there.

deposit is $100 a night. checked out monday came to me thursday. deposit is not mentioned in your emails if you book 3rd party

I am a Hilton Diamond member and used to stay at the Hilton of Americas in downtown Houston but C. Baldwin in my opinion is a much better experience. All of the staff from the valet, room service, and especially the restaurant staff are EXTREMELY polite and helpful! The food from room service or the restaurant is some of the best hotel food I’ve had. The ambience is beautiful and very evening vibes are great. It’s located in a little quieter part of downtown but they offer free shuttle to Main Street if you need. We live an hour away but come here occasionally when we need to decompress from life, as you really don’t even need to leave the hotel for anything.

Mom and I had a wonderful mother-daughter weekend getaway at the C. Baldwin Hotel. The hotel's prime location, just a short walk from the Hobby Center, was perfect for our Lion King matinee. The staff was incredibly accommodating, granting us a late checkout and providing a complimentary shuttle to the theater.

We enjoyed the hotel's dining options, with delicious breakfast and lunch offerings. While the hot breakfast items could have been warmer, the fresh fruit and made-to-order omelets were a highlight. The spacious rooms were clean and comfortable.

Overall, the excellent customer service and convenient location made our stay enjoyable. We would definitely return.
