A publicly funded project that should serve the neighborhood and community is just another nonprofit that seeks profit. Outrageously expensive for the experience. Kind of sad.

What an amazing experience. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We took our time and walked and enjoyed all of the different areas. It was a much needed get away from the hustle and bustle of Houston. I saw many plants that I had never seen and so many of my all time favorites.

The HBG is like a secret garden oasis in the middle of Houston. We especially love the children’s play area, the kitchen garden and the rainforest garden. 10/10 recommend visiting here. Great for all ages! @thathoustonmom

The best 2 hours I had in Houston were spent strolling through the gardens and it was absolutely beautiful. I would be happy to return. Don’t skip the area across the bayou, as there were a various wildlife hanging out there near the water. Thanks for a great visit!

Our first time here and very pleased we came.

We spent several hours walking all the paths, grabbed our lunch from the car, and sat on the wall bench seating on the south side of the global collection enjoying the cool shade and scent of the flowers.

We were impressed with the design of the intimate curvy paths within the many sections of the global collection garden. Further from the garden areas, we recognized areas of development with many clusters of new trees planted which will continue to add to the diversity and beauty within the gardens.

The discovery garden, like all the paths, is an easy walk. The pools are teeming with turtle and the flowers/pickrel rush/lizard tail were spectacular.

We also really liked the discovery water system with archimedes screw, archimedes wheel, and old-fashioned pumps and the associated configurable water channeling which will keep younger visitors (and much older ones) engaged and interested.

For only five years open to the public, the botanic gardens is a must-see.

I had visited the botanic garden once a few years ago and we really enjoyed checking out the Radiant Nature light show a month ago on a weeknight! It was not crowded at all so it was nice to be able to take our time and have people around but without feeling rushed or busy like I imagine it may possibly get on weekends. It took us about an hour to go around the whole thing at our normal pace, not going too slow nor fast. We enjoyed that it had so many different sections and photo opportunities and we were also pleasantly surprised by the infinity room! I would definitely recommend it. We had prepurchased our tickets and parking online and that made it a great smooth experience

Houston botanic garden is a wonderful place to visit with your family. Specially in winter season because of their Radiant Nature show which starts 5:30pm. Radiant nature is full of lights, a glowing garden with beautiful relaxing peaceful environments including lots of interactive activities with music relevant to the environments. Their staff is very good cheerful and you can also find gift shops, clean bathrooms, snacks and drinks. You can buy tickets at the entrance 28$ per person and 18$ for parking because of secure limited parking space onsite otherwise you must park offsite and take shuttle service. You can easily find a good spot for parking if you arrive earlier. Overall it’s a wonderful experience. A must visit place for family specially for kids.

The light show at the Houston Botanic Garden was absolutely stunning! The displays were creative and vibrant, with larger-than-life sculptures, an enchanting magnolia tunnel, and interactive exhibits like the walk-in kaleidoscope. The Lunar New Year section was especially memorable with its glowing dragons and zodiac signs.

The mile-long path was easy to navigate and perfect for families, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way. The atmosphere was magical and well-organized, making it a must-see event during the holiday season.

Just go! Best light show in town. Easy parking, super friendly, helpful, happy staff. Safe easy viewing of displays. Clean bathrooms, snacks, drinks, family friendly. Gift shop and some local artisans for gift/ memento purchase.

Beautiful spot near the city for nature walks. I feel that visiting during the spring or fall is probably best to maximize the amount of plants you’re able to see. I visited during the summer and it was beautiful, but you could tell some plants were struggling due to the extreme heat. If you do choose to visit during the summer months, I recommend a quick visit to the gift shop to peruse, cool off, and purchase popsicles.

Visited the Houston Botanic Garden for the Radiant Nature Festival. It was stunning, with 50+ larger-than-life light displays, a 100-foot magnolia tunnel, and a walk-in kaleidoscope zone. There were sculptures of birds, animals, flowers, and even a 50-foot pagoda. The Lunar New Year section had vibrant lanterns, dragons, and zodiac signs. Plenty of interactive exhibits, photo ops, and family-friendly fun along the mile-long path. Tickets: $25-$30 for adults, kids 3 and under free. Highly recommend!

First and foremost, shout out to all of the employees who work here! They were very informative and work hard to keep this place presentable for visitors. I can tell 😎 Although there is an admission fee to enter the botanic garden, it was definitely worth it. I have been recommended to come to this place by a few friends and it did not disappoint. On the contrary, this place exceeded my expectations. The trails, the amenities, the gift shop, the structure, it was all great! An easy pick for a day with family and friends to just chill and make the most of a nice day. Also a solid choice for a date with your significant other or even a “treat yourself” gift to yourself. The setting is very relaxing on its own and can help when you just need to unwind after a long week. Best times to go would probably be during the spring and summer, just be mindful with that summer heat 🥵… or those spring allergies 🤧… maybe you should try going in the fall 🤷‍♂️ 😂 either way, I can assure you that you’ll have a good time if you’re the type who likes being outside. Be sure to wear some comfortable shoes. Fun fact: there’s some type of “splash zone” play area across the bridge. It helps with the summer heat.
