Daniel Tellez was amazing very knowledgeable and very eager to assist such a nice gentleman

The bistro has gone through a renovation and so has a hotel. We only sat at the bar for a quick cocktail since we had to catch a show. I highly recommend this place.

Attentive service. Slight hitch at the restaurant. Otherwise, the high service was pre-emptive and thoughtful.

This is a beautiful hotel. The valet and front desk staff are very welcoming, and they upgraded me to PH level with no extra charge. After I checked in, I rushed out of the hotel room for an event. Once I was back in the room, I realized I was not given the complimentary snacks or drinks that I was told would be in the room. On top of this, the housekeepers were loud 8am through the rest of the morning which made it hard to relax. It actually got to the point where I decided to check out early and skip breakfast altogether. A little bummed because I feel like for almost $500 a night, this shouldn’t be such a miss.

Bravo! Normally, when we are visiting Houston, we can't wait to get to Post Oak Uptown, our favorite. So, we walked into the Lancaster hotel as skeptics. If you like, the Wall Street hotel in NYC, or the Ivy hotel in Charlotte; you will feel right at home at this charming hotel. It is a sophisticated, well maintained oasis in downtown Houston. If you reserve a suite.....no spoilers here.....but perks galore....believe me, you'll be well pleased! To the owners, perhaps take a look at restoring the St Paul Hotel in Minnesota?

We were really looking forward to staying at The Lancaster Hotel. We booked and paid for our stay back in April 2026 after doing a lot of research, as we wanted to have a great experience in Houston.

There are many things we truly love about this hotel. The location and overall quality are excellent, and the complimentary breakfast and in-room snacks were a nice touch. The artwork throughout the hotel is absolutely amazing. Under normal circumstances, we would easily give this hotel 5 stars.

However, during our stay on Saturday, June 13, 2026 (one night for two adults and one child), we paid around $680, plus an additional $58 for valet parking (though we chose to park nearby instead). While the price felt reasonable for the location and quality, our experience was affected by an issue in the room.

Unfortunately, the bathroom sink was not working properly and was completely clogged. I couldn’t even brush my teeth (see photo and video). It appears to be a plumbing issue. It was disappointing to encounter this problem, although I understand that things can happen.

I reported the issue to the front desk at 9:00 AM when we checked out, and I hope it has been passed along to the maintenance team. So far, we have not received any follow-up communication regarding this issue.

Because of this experience, I have to give the hotel 3 stars instead of 5. I sincerely hope the hotel can address this problem (Room 609) so that future guests do not encounter the same issue. At this price point, guests should at least expect a properly functioning bathroom sink.

A power outage at my apartment sent me to The Lancaster last minute, and Gary W. at the front desk completely turned the night around. He was warm and welcoming from the second I walked in, got me checked in fast, and offered a glass of sparkling wine that was exactly what I needed.

The hotel itself is lovely (quiet, beautiful, great Theater District location), but Gary is what made the stay. Professional without being stiff, genuinely kind without it feeling performative. What started as an annoying emergency turned into a great little solo staycation, largely thanks to him. The Lancaster is lucky to have Gary. Five stars.

We had the most wonderful stay in Houston at The Lancaster. The customer service is unmatched. I don't believe you can find better! The general manager, the front desk staff, the hospitality members, the valet and our driver Alou (the hotel recommended him and be was better than any Uber you can get), were ALL fantastic! We will stay at the Lancaster for years to come.

We came to Houston and Lancaster Hotel for the first time to see Christmas performance by a favored group of ours Voctave. We have really enjoyed the hotel. Bartender David knows his stuff. Restaurant was great. Breakfast was of great quality and the new gal on staff from Rhode Island made us feel welcome. As did Gary and Kevin at the front desk. Very helpful. Housekeeping and guys at the front door was prompt and friendly. Finally the manager, I didn’t catch his name either. He never stopped working! Always on the move. Setting a great example for staff. Thank you for great service and making us feel welcome.

My wife and I just celebrated our 25th Anniversary at the Lancaster. We have stayed at the hotel before - and we have always loved their focus on detail. When we arrived - they had a card for us, a bottle of bubbly, and the room was just gorgeous.

I want to thank the staff for making our weekend special - you truly went above and beyond (well - for ya'll it is situation normal) any other hotel.

We will definitely be back and thanks for being a special place for my wife and I.

The Lancaster Hotel in Houston is absolutely phenomenal! From the moment I stepped into this stunning historic building, I was blown away by its charm and elegance. The art-filled interior creates a warm and sophisticated ambiance that makes the experience truly unique.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. They were attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. The rooms are gorgeous, large, and have ample amenities. A special shoutout to the Concierge and Housekeeping teams for helping me get a few items back that I'd accidentally left behind in my room – their kindness and efficiency turned what could have been a stressful situation into a seamless process. The location is perfect -- right near the Alley Theatre and plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast is delicious and the Mezzanine is cozy, art-filled, and a fun space to start the morning.

If you're looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in Houston, The Lancaster Hotel is the place to be. I can't wait to come back and enjoy this gem again!

I cannot say enough about the customer service. We brought our infant son on our trip and arrived earlier than anticipated. I called the front desk and explained our situation and they were able to get our room ready a few hours earlier. Not only that, but when we returned to our room after dinner they had set up a Pack N Play without us even asking for it. The continental breakfast had a large array of food to choose from and the restaurant, Cultivated F & B, was top notch. The art work throughout the hotel was a nice touch and we will definitely be returning on our next trip to Houston.

Probably the best experience I've ever had with a hotel. We stayed here for our anniversary and we truly couldn't have had a better time. Location is great, valet service was fast and efficient, and everyone on staff was kind and friendly and really make you feel like you are just staying with close friends that you've known for years. Also a bar and restaurant conveniently located inside the hotel. Breakfast was even great!
They really had a hand in making our anniversary weekend that much better.
    100% recommend this hotel.
