If you’re looking for the perfect blend of cozy elegance and soulful vibes, UnWine in Houston is the place to be.

I visited on Valentine’s Day, and from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was everything — fancy yet intimate, with a smooth jazzy vibe that instantly set the mood for a romantic evening. It felt warm, inviting, and beautifully curated for a special night out.

A huge shoutout to our host, Shearone,
who truly made the experience unforgettable. We were treated like royalty from start to finish. The attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality elevated our evening beyond expectations. Exceptional service like that makes all the difference.

Now let’s talk about the food — absolutely phenomenal. We started with a shareable appetizer platter that was perfectly arranged and packed with flavor. For dinner, I had the salmon drizzled with a savory sauce over seasoned rice — and I’m still thinking about that sauce! Every bite was rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The jerk chicken over rice was hands down the best we’ve ever had — tender, mouthwatering, and seasoned just right.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, dessert arrived. The red velvet cake topped with fresh strawberries was succulent and indulgent — every bite felt special and celebratory.

UnWine is truly a hidden gem in Houston. Whether it’s date night, a celebration, or just a cozy evening out, this place delivers on atmosphere, service, and unforgettable flavors.

We will absolutely be back!

This is one of my favorite places in Houston! I really love how the owner is attentive and knowledgeable about the wine that is served. The vibe is amazing and I’m going to be a regular for sure.

My friend and I attempted to go here on a Wednesday at 5:45. According to the hours of operation listed on Google, it should have been open. The open sign was lit and lights were on inside, but the door was locked and no one was inside.

The rooftop had a beautiful decor and provided an ambiance great for a night out with friends or an intimate date night.
The owner was personable, hospitable, and welcoming.
Will definitely return.

I visited in the beginning of December for the first time with my family and had a great time. The owner, Sharon Lewis, was friendly and personable. She was able to recommend wines based on what we like to drink. The charcuterie board she put together was tasty and had different meats and cheeses I hadn’t tasted. It was an amazing time and I will be back. I recommend it as a date night outing or family kickback.

My cousins and I were looking for a fun friendly place to hang out and chill. This was the perfect establishment for that. We had one cousin who likes to drink bourbon and was not sure of a wine choice. Ms. Lewis ( the owner) was able to create a wine with the same flavors/notes as a bourbon. We also ordered the charcuterie board and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back!!!

I love this place! It is black and woman owned but still very diverse! I would recommend this wine bar to anyone I know. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the vibes are all amazing.

I understand why it's called Unwine, because the minute you enter the doors, the cares and stresses of the world disappear and you find yourself relaxed and at peace. The welcoming ambiance and friendly smiles seem to remind you of home, wherever your home is. The owner/sommelier Shearone is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, recommending just the right wine/beverage based on your preferences.

2023 Update:
Second visit in a while and looking forward to dropping by more regularly now. The laid back vibe is still amazing and just perfect to relax and unwind. We had the pleasure of interacting with the owner who was the absolute perfect host. Her excellent engagement with guests truly elevated the experience. Beverage and meal options are uniquely exciting so be sure to ask for recommendations while you’re there.

2020 Review:
This wine bar offered a very relaxed ambiance on a night out. We chilled downstairs for a while before going up to the patio. Although it was a fairly cold night, the heaters upstairs ensured the space remained comfortable. The DJ kept the vibe going, and even took special requests. We felt so comfortable that we engaged in conversation with the staff and other guests.
