Rainbow Lodge has been around for as long as I can remember. I don't know when they changed locations but both had great atmospheres. A few months ago I joined my family for their Sunday supper (chicken fried chicken) and it was spectacular. Today I brought my wife and son thinking it was going to be the same menu but turned out to be chicken fried steak. It was not the same. Flavor was great but some cuts needed a hacksaw to cut into bite size pieces. Our waiter was great but chx fried steak was really not good. Will definitely go back but it will be for the chicken or the regular menu.

Fantastic meal and wonderful atmosphere. The staff made great menu recommendations, and every single dish was cooked to perfection. The dining room was pristine and had a relaxed, joyful buzz without being too loud. We will definitely spread the word to friends.

This place offers incredible value for the level of food and service provided. The portions are satisfying, the ingredients are visibly fresh, and the plating is elegant. The staff treated us with genuine warmth from arrival to departure. Highly recommended.

Excellent dinning experience, very friendly atmosphere, the staff make you welcomed from the time you arrive until the time you leave. We had a group of 12, we tried several dishes. The nilgai steak was very tender and delicious, other dishes that we tried was the artichoke chicken, the game sampler, and there was a chef special of bison steak with lobster. The appetizers are also a must try, we had the scallops with the rainbow caviar, the quail and the delicious rolls. This restaurant is a must try if you have a special occasion.

The worst part of my experience was definitely the gnocchi. Tasted absolutely awful. However, all other aspects were moderately nice. Charcuterie board and beef sliders were slightly above average. The outside surrounding area was gorgeous, and you can go down the stairs to the outdoor area.

We celebrated our wedding at this restaurant in December, and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The service was outstanding, attentive, warm, and incredibly accommodating to all our needs. The food was exceptional, and every guest kept commenting on how delicious everything was. Communication and organization were seamless throughout the entire process, which made planning so much easier and stress-free. The venue itself is beautiful, with well-maintained vegetation that creates a charming and elegant atmosphere. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special day. Highly recommend! Thank you Tim and the entire team for making our day unforgettable!

I think I had very high expectations after seeing photos online. While I was anticipating a polished, upscale atmosphere, the reality was a bit different. From the street, the restaurant is surprisingly unassuming; if you aren’t looking for it, you could easily drive right past. Once inside, the vibe is strictly rustic. While some might find it cozy, I felt the interior could use a bit of a "shine." Having dined at other high-end establishments, the upkeep here felt like it was trailing behind the premium cost of the meal. However, the service was a major highlight. Our server was incredibly nice and warm. From the moment we sat down, he welcomed us and treated us with the utmost care and respect, which definitely elevated the evening. This was my first foray into game meat, so I approached the menu with a mix of curiosity. Since I don't have a baseline for these meats, it’s hard to tell if my experience was due to the preparation or the nature of the proteins. Bison was amazing and definitely the highlight of the night. Venison, Rabbit, & Quail were "so-so" or just okay for me. I couldn’t quite tell if the preparation was lacking or if I just didn't care for the specific meats. The whipped accompaniments for the bread were good, but the bread itself was mediocre. Similarly, the drink I ordered was just "ok ok"—nothing to write about.

Rustic country vibe. Beautiful scenery with simple decor. Great for casual dinner with a fancy flare. Food was great. Mashed potatoes had too much goat cheese but still ok. Our waiter was talkative but extremely personable and kind. Can't remember his name but his wife loves horses. I'll definitely be back.

Valet parking. Top tier service. Comfortable atmosphere. Delicious fare: nice presentation & portion size. The food was the star. The game was cooked to perfection, so tender. The fish was well seasoned & the sauce & spinach were very good. Our least favorite bite of the night with the cheddar grits that came with the quail appetizer & the wild game entrée. A bit more seasoning would have helped. The highlight of the meal was the dessert. Hands down, the best dessert I've ever had. The atmosphere was elevated but not stuffy. We had a lovely time celebrating our anniversary. The card from the staff was a sweet touch. Highly recommend. Beautiful property (maybe in a somewhat odd location), excellent service. Food was unique and delicious, as were the Lodge Signature cocktails. Will definitely become a part of our special occasion rotation.

We went for our anniversary and sat in the bar area. It was a bit noisy until happy hour ended. The food and drinks were splendid and the service was exceptional.

Rainbow Lodge in Houston is a culinary gem that truly impresses. The location is tucked back in a wooded corner lot making it feel like an almost forgotten part of the city. I had the wild game mixed grill, complemented by their scrumptious dinner rolls and perfectly creamy mashed potatoes. Every bite was a delicious adventure. I didn’t take enough photos of the interior but the vibes it puts off are awesome. I really liked it and highly recommend this spot for a unique and flavorful dining experience! If it’s nice weather get a table on the back porch the view of the backyard is beautiful.

I came to dine in for a business trip with my coworkers, and it's my first time to eat at this restaurant. The place is nice and cozy. The lighting provides a good ambiance for dining. The staff are very attentive, and always make sure to provide our dining experience needs. I ordered smoke duck gumbo as my appetizer. The soup consistency is creamy and full of flavors. For my entree, I had pan seared red snappers with lump crabs and an add-on of fried oysters and grilled shrimp. This combination of 3 seafood on this order is just perfect for a seafood lover like me. Talking about dessert, I had bread pudding. It's served on a generous amount and satisfying flavorful of the soft warm bread that just brings me comfort. It was definitely a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it.

What a gem of a restaurant. Came to try out the prix fixe menu for restaurant week and the selection of dishes for the courses was well done and the wild game was well cooked and delicious. The pairing of sauces for the wild game-tasting plate was well thought out with the duck and venison being the highlights. The warm croissant bread pudding was decadent and a great way to round out the meal.
