I finally made it to Le Jardinier after meaning to visit for a while, and I’m happy to say the experience met my expectations. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch.
For me, the first impression of a restaurant isn’t just about the menu—it’s about the welcoming service, the atmosphere, and the design. Le Jardinier, located inside the museum, exudes that refined ambiance the moment you walk in. The decor is tastefully done, with elegant tables, chairs, tableware, and dishes, all contributing to a pleasant and cohesive dining environment.
Interestingly, the staff-to-guest ratio seemed unusually high—something some may find comforting, though I found it a bit excessive.
We opted not to go with the tasting menu and instead shared four appetizers and two “grain” dishes between the two of us, which was more than enough. Every bite was a delight. The dishes struck the perfect balance between complexity and simplicity, showcasing the freshest ingredients and flawless execution. I can’t even pick a favorite; each one left an impression.
With the long-awaited Michelin Guide finally coming to Houston, I wouldn’t be surprised if Le Jardinier earns a well-deserved star.
