This is a pretty nice, yet smaller zoo/aquarium experience. Doesn't require a huge time commitment, but there is plenty to do if you want to spend a bunch of time. Hands on for a fee is an added benefit here, hince the interactive part. I only deduct 1 star because some of it is a bit dated, seems like there were more empty exhibits last trip than on previous ones also

We brought our son here for his birthday — first time for all of us. He had a blast. Hands-on animals, plenty to see, and it made a memorable birthday outing.

The only thing I wish they’d make clearer before you walk in is how many extras sit on top of admission.

Ticket price gets you through the door; a lot of the feedings and special encounters are extra credits once you’re inside. I get why they do it, but it would help first-time families budget if that was spelled out more upfront.

Even with that surprise, it was still a great place. We’ll be back — next time we’ll know what to expect and plan the spend accordingly.

This was our second visit. I was disappointed they took away the kids play ground inside of the arcade. However, the handlers of the animals this time around were fantastic. I didn't get there names but everyone of them were great. The young man handling the sloth was so knowledgeable and taught us alot.

It's very run down, and in many places it smells terrible. We bought a wristband for all the interactions separately from the entrance fee, but there was no one there to let us in for many of them. In fact, for the vast majority, it wasn't worth spending that extra money. Based on our experience, we were only able to get into two of the attractions.

I loved this place. At first, I didn't understand how there could be animals in a place that looked so small, but once inside, it's so well laid out and spacious that I ended up exhausted but happy from all the animals I saw and was able to touch. I do recommend buying the pass that allows you to touch all the animals if you or your children are willing to do so. If you're a little reserved, you can buy individual passes for just the animals you like best. I had a wonderful time with my daughter 💕

Sleeping with the Sharks is hands down one of the best experiences you could book in Houston Texas for your family and friends. Everything about it the bounce houses, animals , the whole experience is worth every penny and i couldn't be more satisfied with the way it turned out. Our host Brandon did not disappoint and all the reviews about him being great are 100% true. Grateful to have such a smooth and magical experience to celebrate my sons birthday. Would definitely book again!

Its about 45 mins from Houston downtown. Parking in front is limited by there is another lot with shuttle service.
You can get very close to the animals however they are likely under staff. This resulted in some free areas not manned.
Good place to spend the afternoon with the family.
Giraffe was awesome and first time petting one.

We had a blast! All the animals were well taken care of. The facilities were clean. The staff was unbelievably patient, polite, and friendly. We drove from Baytown and it was well worth the drive! My toddler did not want to leave the stingrays 🤣 100% way more fun than the Houston Zoo and Downtown Aquarium combined.

Wow! Like what can I say?! This has been one of the best experiences EVER!!!!! We booked the Sleeping with the Sharks private event for my daughter’s “Baby shark” theme party. The whole experience was AMAZING!!!!! Our tour guide Brandon was the best!!! He literally attended to all our needs and kept checking on us to make sure we were okay!!!! I wish I can leave like ten reviews for him because he was THAT awesome! Will definitely be coming back for a visit!!!!

Update: I came back to comment again but I can only leave one review😢. We just got back after our overnight stay and I just came to say that I’ve been to the Downtown Aquarium and Zoo several times but this place has to be my favorite of all. Mainly because the staffs are so great(especially Brandon) and the actually allow you to interactive with the animals! Also the staffs are well educated and often ask if you have questions so they make sure you understand everything.
This is truly an experience I’ll never forget!!

Visited this little gem yesterday. We arrived a little bit after noon. There.was no wait to get in.

This is a great interactive aquarium and zoo for children. There is a wide variety of marine animals, mammals,.reptiles, and birds.

I wish the enclosures were a bit larger for the animals, but all appeared to be happy and healthy. Enclosures were clean.

Parking is a lityle tight, but overall, it was a great experience.
