I wish I could’ve stayed longer. It’s in such a great location, when you walk out, there’s a karaoke bar, and really fun nightlife places at night. And a beautiful walk during the day. Once you enter the hotel it’s different, it’s beautiful, historic, and quiet. The breakfast was actually pretty good. The rooms seemed sound proofed, so you couldn’t hear the noise or bustle from outside, they had amazing blackout curtains as well. I was having such a great time I forgot to take pictures unfortunately.

Hotel feels historic--partly because it was a bank building--and emphasizes Texas history of cows! In the room there are a total of six cow paintings (including a Hungarian cow) and the towel hanger is even shaped like a cow! The hotel definitely isn't new, but serves it's purpose.

Furthermore, the staff were amazing and super friendly. To accommodate my need to use one of their "restricted" spaces for an orator competition, the staff allowed for me to temporarily use the area--super fair and polite and was not necessary. But the staff did so to help me, so I'm grateful.

I really enjoyed my weekend at the Icon. It ended just the way it started with the nicest people working there, helping me bring my luggage, attending my every need right away. Trish checked me in and gave me a free breakfast voucher! She just gave me good vibes right away. Breakfast was top notch with a variety of options including amazing fresh fruit which I absolutely enjoyed. You definitely feel like you’re in a different era when you’re there but it is well kept and CLEAN. Kinda reminded me of The Shining lol because of the red doors. My room was very nice and comfortable, the bed was perfect and the bathroom was amazing, I opted for a tub option which was totally worth it. I came to Houston to take a class but at night I got dolled up and walked across the street to Angel Share which was just the right type of bar for me. But there are several options walking distance. Room service was so yummy especially when the employees are so nice. Overall I can’t wait to come back. One disappointment I had was when I was checking out the hotel options downtown I chose Icon because of the rooftop picture… I thought it was a rooftop bar but no it does not have a rooftop bar. That picture is from a suite they offer. But still I’d come back because it was clean, comfortable, great location, safe and the hospitality was amazing!

I absolutely love this hotel. The decor, the room, the comfort. An absolutely amazing experience. Check in was very easy and everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. The room is spacious and very comfortable. Huge shower and jacuzzi tub, only negative was the jacuzzi didn't work, no bubbles, so sad.
Absolutely great experience. Keep in mind if you park the garage you will bring charged for valet service.
