First time EVER to go to Herman Park on the side of the Auditorium hill. Had a wonderful picnic on the grass hill and then enjoyed the sunset. The trails are nice with wonderful views. Got to stroll and take in the scenery. Great place to bike ride, skate or play ball.

Back in late July 2014, my friends and I spent a wonderful Saturday exploring Hermann Park. It is a beautiful, expansive urban oasis right in the heart of Houston's Museum District. During the visit, we spent some relaxing time by the iconic Mary Gibbs and Jesse H. Jones Reflection Pool, walking along the scenic paths shaded by large trees, and crossing the pedestrian bridge over McGovern Lake.

Returning to the area later in October 2014, I also managed to explore University Blvd right near the park grounds. The neighborhood there is exceptionally charming, featuring lovely classic houses framed perfectly by majestic, sweeping oak trees that extend from the park's surroundings.

The park offers a serene atmosphere, with lush green trees, a grand fountain, and plenty of birds gathering by the water. It is well-maintained and provides a perfect, peaceful escape for a leisurely walk or to just sit down and enjoy nature.

Since it is located right next to the Houston Zoo and various museums, it’s a fantastic place to unwind. A truly wonderful public space that shouldn’t be missed when visiting Houston.

Spent the day with my family and freinds at Herman Park. There is plenty to do and enjoy here. We enjoyed the paddle boats, the train ride, walking the paths, the gardens and wild life. Everyone was so nice and friendly. There are plenty of shaded areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. There is a grrat little gift shop to purchase drinks, ice-cream and memorabilia. Bring a lunch and have a great day!

This is a very large and beautiful park! Take the kids for a Train ride (a ticket is good for unlimited rides all day... flower gardens, Japanese gardens, waterfountains, picnicking, beautiful walks, what is there not to love about this park. The Zoo and Natural History Museum are located within the park...

Hermann Park in Houston has an amazing atmosphere and is a wonderful place for a walk. The pathways and gardens are beautifully maintained, making it perfect for a morning walk or to enjoy a cup of coffee and a light snack. I especially enjoyed exploring the different walking trails and sections of the park, each with its own peaceful charm.

The Japanese Garden is particularly beautiful and adds a unique and relaxing experience to the visit. There are also nice and cozy coffee spots within the park, which makes it even more enjoyable.

If you visit, try taking the small train that gives a tour around the park—it’s a lovely way to see the different areas of the garden, especially if you’re visiting with family.

Overall, it’s a peaceful and enjoyable place to relax and spend time outdoors.

This parking is so beautiful! It has something for everyone. We visited in December and there were still so many people out and about. We will be coming back more often to enjoy the surroundings. I would love to ride the train and take out the pedal boats. Maybe my next review will include those.

Hermann Park in Houston is a highly popular destination offering a wide range of activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy walking along scenic trails, having picnics by McGovern Lake, or exploring cultural sites like the Japanese Garden and the Sam Houston Monument. For those interested in arts and entertainment, the Miller Outdoor Theatre hosts free performances ranging from concerts to plays. A great park to spend a good day of an afternoon. There are a lot of bars and other places to have a drink and a snack. There is also a small train that runs true a part of the park.

I love it. The new area with splash pads, turtles river just amazing. The boat, train rides cool for kids. The only thing is to be ready to explore workout and have fun. Also be covered with hats, sunglasses...

It's a cozy place to just bask in nature but that is a plus and minus. I think the cleaning of the park needs to be done more frequently. Like you will barely see trash but the stuff the ducks leave behind is abundant. All in all it's a great place to just relax
