Such a fun activity and super rewarding by the end!!! They had everything set up for us right when we walked in and allowed us to change yarn colors if we wanted (there’s a lot to choose from). The instructor, Star, was clear, encouraging, and helped us out through the whole process. I only wish we had a little more time so as to not rush at the end. If you do a large sized rug make sure to plan for the learning curve in the beginning. The place is clean and music was great, with stools available if you want to sit while tufting. Be prepared for an arm workout! All in all a fantastic experience and would do again!!

Definitely read the confirmation email, since they gave instructions how to find the studio! Habibi Bazaar is on the 2nd floor inside Spring Street Studios. Our instructor, Ashley, was great! Did a few training sessions before officially starting on our custom rug. Keep an open schedule right after the rug tufting workshop. A session may take a few hours and go a little over time depending how quick you work. Highly recommend booking a workshop with a group of friends!

We had so much fun rug tufting! We booked for a weekday and we were the only ones so we had more time and help. Our instructor Ashley was great! She was so thorough and helpful. We were able to finish in the allotted time. I would go again with friends for an event! Definitely recommended trying out rug tufting here!

I'm primarily a painter and recently I've been wondering if I should add tufting into my practice... I took the workshop here and was immediately hooked! I love working with machines so tufting is right up my alley. The studio itself is lovely - fun atmosphere and the workspace is clean and organized. The instructors were awesome - very thorough in explanation and demo. Sweet, patient, and supportive. Highly recommend you take this workshop if you're looking for a unique creative experience!

I have written a novel here and I hope you read it all but if you don’t, the only thing you need to know is SCHEDULE YOUR WORKSHOP NOW! If you want details, keep reading. This is the most unique and fun thing to do in Houston. Dinner, drinks, movies are ok. But when the four of us decided to celebrate a friend’s birthday, we wanted it to be fun. Pamela and Tavie at Habibi Bazaar have created a top notch tufting workshop. It’s a do-it-yourself rug making experience. And by do-it-yourself, I mean Pamela and Tavie are there every step of the way. I don’t claim to have a creative bone in my body nor do I know anything about rug making. And I didn’t have to. Pamela and Tavie spend a great deal of time teaching the do’s and don’t of tufting. With a wealth of experience, they explain the entire process in a fun and digestible way. Complete with a thorough demonstration and practice session, you are ready to dive in and create. I was excited about doing this but the actual experience went above and beyond my expectations. I was surprised how comfortable I got so quickly. As you work on your rug, Pamela and Tavie walk around and give each person personal and undivided attention. They share tips and tricks and guide you the whole way. And the whole time they are cheering you on. On top of this, they provide drinks and snacks and allow you to bring your own food and drink. We brought cupcakes and cookies to share for the birthday celebration. Also, they have the best music playlist! I can’t say enough about this experience. It was not only the tufting workshop but it was the unique and personal experience that Pamela and Tavie created for us. At times, I found myself making mistakes and being too critical of this new skill I was learning. On a couple of occasions, Pamela was guiding me and told me to stop calling them mistakes and continued to encourage and inspire me. It also reminded me that it was supposed to be fun. And it was. Pamela and Tavie, thank you a million times! We will be back again and again!

My partner and I recently attended a Date Night Workshop at Habibi Bazaar in First Ward Houston, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The workshop offered a perfect blend of creativity, learning, and connection. A week before the event, Habibi Bazaar sent us a selection of rug templates to choose from, allowing us to pick a design that we both loved. The workshop was well-organized, with all necessary materials and tools laid out, and the instructors provided clear, step-by-step guidance, ensuring we understood each part of the tufting process. Working together on a single rug was a unique bonding experience, requiring teamwork, communication, and compromise, making it a perfect activity for a date night. We can't wait to return for another workshop!

Want a unique, FUN & memorable experience? This is for you then! ✨ I was browsing various date night ideas, so when I came across Habibi Bazaar they STOOD OUT immediately! I hadn’t heard of rug tufting before or seen anything like it in Houston. I’m so happy I tried this place out. It was something new for me and my boyfriend who enjoy doing activities where we get to tap into our creativity! We were lucky enough to book on a less busy night and get a more 1-1 experience with the owners which made it even more unforgettable. They are great at coaching you through the steps, professional, and their taste in music is *chefs kiss*! I enjoyed the vibes so much that I plan to go back to create a rug tufted mirror! Took a picture with one of the examples they had in their studio and this is something that I know would add so much character to my space. Can’t wait to be back :)
