    What makes it fun

All aboard for a date night that’s anything but ordinary! Goode Company Seafood, housed in a converted vintage train car, offers a retro-chic ambiance perfect for couples craving a little nostalgia with their seafood. The menu is a sea-lover’s dream, with highlights like mesquite-grilled fish, redfish beignets, shrimp etouffée, and seafood gumbo. The Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie is a must for dessert.

Our server/bartender DJ with excellent and the service was A1. We did not want our wonder about anything. He was very patient with two indecisive women.

Goode Company Seafood is a mixed bag of solid dishes with a few standout moments. The crab cake was just aight, but dipping it in the bisque gave it a much-needed boost. The gumbo? Definitely worth it—good flavor, and the mix hits the spot (don’t forget the hot sauce and crackers). Brussel sprouts were fire, easily a highlight for me. The special was decent—good standalone components, but they didn’t really come together in a wow way. Salmon? Very, very good. Fried catfish? Solid. Green tomatoes? Skip them, unless you’re here for the bucket of ranch they come with. The garlic bread was, unsurprisingly, excellent. Then there’s the empanadas… they came with everything, which was a little confusing. They were fine if you like a sharp, bold flavor, but not for everyone. The staff was super attentive, which helped balance out the fact that this place leans on the pricey side. My advice? Stick to one main and maybe one appetizer to share, and you can enjoy a satisfying meal without destroying your wallet.

What a unique restaurant…. We selected some grilled fish that was cooked over mesquite. I can attest that this was a quality decision. Eager staff paid more than enough attention, quickly met needs and offered good suggestions. We will be back to do this again soon, hoping to repeat the experience.

This place has a cool train exterior with a charming, diner-like feel inside. Upon arrival, guests are seated promptly, and the staff is friendly, providing attentive and efficient service. The overall atmosphere is casual and welcoming, but crowded seats in the main room. The entree were pretty good, with several dishes standing out. The BBQ chicken and salmon are particularly well-prepared; both are moist, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, avoiding the dryness that often comes with these dishes. The étouffée is also a solid choice, offering a rich and satisfying taste. The kids' menu provides good value for money, featuring a variety of options for just $9 with catfish and shrimp options, which is great for families. The fries are a must-try, crispy and well-seasoned, adding a perfect side to the main dishes. However, the oysters fall short of expectations. They are disappointingly small in size, especially considering the price, and there are other restaurants in Houston that offer larger, higher-quality oysters for the same cost. While this place is a great option for casual dining with a broad menu and well-executed dishes, those looking specifically for great oysters might be better off exploring other options in the city. Overall, it’s a good place for a relaxed meal with decent food, but the oysters don't quite live up to the standard set by the rest of the menu.

I recently visited the restaurant for the first time, and it was an incredible experience! The food is top-notch—delicious. Every dish we tried was expertly prepared and truly satisfying. Our waitress, Shelly, was amazing and friendly, making the experience even better. This place truly deserves 5 stars. If you're a seafood lover, you can't miss it!

First time at the restaurant and we couldn’t be happier. The service was amazing. Everyone enjoyed the food. I really wished they had Riesling but that was fine. Our sever Jose gave us great recommendations. We were celebrating my husbands grandmothers 83rd birthday she was very happy with everything.
