My husband and I tried Fred Astaire's dance studio out just for fun. We are total beginners. Ferg was our instructor. He was wonderdul. He totally made us feel relaxed and comfortable. After, we told our adult children about our date night experience and they were so supportive! Can't wait for the next lesson!

My husband and I first came to a class using a gift certificate from a friend, and we’ve now been here a year and a half — what an incredible experience it’s been. In the beginning, I felt awkward, self‑conscious, and totally out of my element, but the instructors were endlessly positive and encouraging. With that kind of support, it’s impossible not to look forward to coming back week after week. I’ve grown so much individually, and my husband and I have grown together too — we dance, we laugh at our mistakes, and we keep getting better. The instructors are very experienced in knowing how to tailor lessons to accommodate each student's learning style. Perfect for my creative mind and my husband's engineer brain! This studio is overflowing with encouragement, skill, smiles, and truly top‑notch instruction. It’s been such a gift to be part of it.

If you have an interest in learning to ballroom dance socially or competitively, the Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Cypress is a FABULOUS place to learn! My husband and I first enrolled at the Fred Astaire - Cypress studio in January 2024. I had no dance or related activity experience (i.e. drill team, cheerleading, band, gymnastics, etc.). Learning something as interesting and challenging as ballroom dancing is not easy at 68 years old. However, the last fourteen months have been a wonderful experience for me. The studio atmosphere is inclusive and welcoming to everyone that steps through the studio doors. Additionally, the professional dance instructors are superb! As a student, I can unequivocally state that each instructor is experienced and knowledgeable. I believe each of them can teach anyone to dance. Plus, they make it so much fun to learn. It has been a great experience here with ferg and hector! They help with my physical needs and getting more motion in body!! My posture is improving so much!! My hips are like a belly dancer now ! God bless both of them and I'm super excited for the future while i take my first steps into my bronze level. Im a senior, and i recommend anybody to come and dance. The environment is super friendly and welcoming, i feel my body mind and heart is like a feather after i do a session!! I cant recommend enough!♥️

Edina is a great instructor. She’s very patient, knowledgeable expert who really loves teaching. My husband and I felt right at ease with her and she made it a great experience. We are already scheduled to go back with her! I’d certainly recommend her to anyone, whether you’re a beginner or have some dancing experience

I have been a student of Fred Astaire Dance Studio’s Cypress location for 8 months. The enthusiasm, energy, and skill of each instructor at the studio is outstanding. Each of the Instructors is welcoming regardless of your skill level in dance. I had never learned to dance and learning at this studio has been and continues to be one of the best experiences of my life. I love the atmosphere and the approach that Fred Astaire studios use to teach dance. If you have an interest in learning to dance, give this incredibly talented group of instructors at the Cypress studio a try!

I just finished the first month of classes and have enjoyed all of the private lessons and group classes. Hector and Magui have been excellent instructors and are true professionals and make learning fun and interesting! All of the instructors and students are friendly and welcoming. When considering the cost you can either buy a piece of art to hang on your wall or you can become the moving art yourself:)

Had my first lesson today. My teacher is phenomenal! She helped me coordinate the basic salsa moves in a way I could easily transition between steps. My self esteem has skyrocketed after just one lesson. Can’t wait to go back tomorrow for lesson number two. Highly recommend Fred Astaire Dance Studio on Cypress!

It’s been two incredible years since I embarked on my dance journey, and what a ride it has been! Not only am I dancing socially, but I’m also preparing for something extraordinary in 2026. This year, I’ll be traveling to Las Vegas for my first national dance competition. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my dance family, especially my instructors, Barnabas and Magui.
