It's free so I can't really complain. Liked the Mary Ellen Carroll show on the first floor - big, ambitious, though a bit all over the place. Divination downstairs didn't do anything for me.

This was my first time visiting, and all I can say is—WOW! I absolutely love contemporary art because it breaks barriers, sparks creativity, and encourages people to think outside the box. This place is a phenomenal community outlet that inspires conversation, imagination, and new perspectives. I truly enjoyed the experience and look forward to coming back!

It was nice to look and different but the staff were extremely rude and yes they said not to touch once which was fine but the glares and following after the fact wasn’t pleasant

Rude staff. The girl working today had no etiquettes in dealing with customers.

    Also overall a crappy museum.

Free, two-level exhibition and performance space for contemporary art. The building sits among a complex of museum buildings of different purposes and prices.
There is paid and free parking on nearby streets, and the museum has an attached parking garage.

I had the chance to enjoy an incredible date with my significant other at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, and it was nothing short of amazing. The rotating exhibits really sparked my curiosity, I’m already excited about what collections will be on display next. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, not just about the art, but about the museum, the city, and the overall Houston experience. Truly grateful for the opportunity to visit such an inspiring and thoughtfully curated space.

This is probably my favorite museum in the Houston area. they are very friendly, it's a completely free museum honestly it's such a hidden gem and I would like more people to know about this museum. They have two floors and two separate exhibits on each floor. They have restrooms on the bottom floor in the corner. Sometimes they have a reading corner which is really cool on the bottom floor as well. A must see if in the Montrose area.

The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston was a vibrant and thought-provoking visit—and best of all, admission is free!

Tomashi Jackson’s Across the Universe stood out with its bold colors and fresh energy, offering a powerful reflection on societal power and community empowerment.

The OUT OF STOCK teen exhibition was impressive and timely. Some pieces felt dark, capturing the real struggles of today’s youth, which made them even more impactful.

A meaningful and accessible experience all around.

Everything was great except the guy working the desk, he just sounded and looked like he did not want to be there. Very off putting... I hope he was just having a bad day the day I visited. Other than his negativity, the rest of the floor staff was polite and wonderful! I will come back for their next exhibition. It is free admission!

I was very impressed by the layout of Gallery on both levels and the presentations of the artwork. Vincent Valdez is an amazing artist- Houston is very fortunate to have an
artist of his caliber. The museum staff were friendly and informative. Definitely look forward to experiencing the next exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Museum

We had a pleasant experience checking out the Vincent Valdez Collection.

Lots of life size paintings and cultural thought provoking pieces.

The display is around till March and I look forward to going back and examining again, for even more details that I can extract.

This in my opinion is one of best displays of artwork I've seen in a while and truly stirred my emotions.

    I highly recommend visiting.

The museum was smaller than I anticipated but I loved all of the exhibits! I appreciated the sleek looking design of the outdoor space of the museum and the colorful exhibits they had on display. Located on a perfect spot in the Museum District - easily walk to the other museums in the area. Highly recommend to make this a stop on a multi museum day!

This fairly small exhibition was quite interesting. Showing us some of the american heritage and culture of America.
The gentleman at the reception was very helpfull, by telling us more about the district in the downtown area.
Oh and I almost forget, the entrance is free when we were there.

Had an amazing day date with my mom and daughters. We really enjoyed the CAMH Court. The art is exciting and truly contemporary. The Teen Council Exhibit downstairs was phenomenal! The amount of detail and character in each piece is outstanding. If you're looking for a free family outing, come here. It's also a nice place to bring a date. There's an area outside where you could have a lil picnic and then go enjoy the artwork.
