One of the best restaurant serving American cuisine. Highly recommended for friends and families. Everything here is high quality with delicious ingredients. Their menu is simple but deep . Jamila and Perveen are v friendly. They serve us v nicely.

- [ ] It has been quite a while since I enjoyed a meal at State of Grace. We used to love it but in recent years felt that the food had gone down hill. We were excited when the menu revamp was announced and made a Saturday night dinner reservation with friends. Upon arrival we were seated in the small side room that is used for private dining. Originally disappointed to not be in the main dining room, it ended up being nice because it was fairly quite. We placed cocktail drink right away but they didn't make it to the table for around 20 minutes. This remained the case for the entire meal.

Things we liked - the complimentary bread service, tuna tartare.

Things we didn't like - everything else. The filet, asparagus and cacio e pepe were all drowning in salt and butter. The chicken was just ok and even the texas pecan ball was too salty.

Super disappointed because we used to love this neighborhood restaurant but the new menu, while bigger, is not better than the old one.

Chicken Limone was flavorful and Crispy eggplant was awesome. It has little heat to it. Filet mignon was perfect medium rare. Fries was crispy outside and soft inside but was little too salty to my taste. Oysters was great too.

Amazing place to experience a small menu with great food. We were a party of four and enjoyed whatever we ordered. Their sauce which comes with the food is out of the world. I had the red fish with asparagus which i enjoyed eating. Great service and the servers are attentive and thorough. I would recommend this place to go for dinner date.

We truly enjoyed out experience at State of Grace. We had 2 servers that took excellent care of us and offered great suggestions. The ambience was also fantastic and the restaurant was full of patrons enjoying their meal. We tried a variety of items from the menu and they were all fantastic. For mains we had steak and veal schnitzel. I highly recommend both. Can't wait to return.

Long time, all time favorite Houston restaurant of mine. From the art nouveau branding and decor to the one of a kind oyster room adorning the front of the establishment you can’t help but be enamored when you first walk in. Chef Ford Fry consistently delivers a quality menu with thoughtful preparation and execution. If there’s a restaurant that can scream ‘River Oaks’ without coming across as pretentious then this is it. Excellent wine selection, consistently fantastic food whether you’re here for brunch, lunch or dinner, you can’t go wrong. Personal favorites are the crab hush puppies, the raw oyster selection and the wild boar jowl. Also don’t miss out on the Felix enchilada, it’s an unsuspecting show stopper.

The hospitality was great from the moment we walked in the door. The weight staff and food was also good. we got the seafood platter and everything tasted fresh. The chocolate pecan dessert was more than we had hoped for! One downside is that it only has limited bathrooms (I think 3-4) and they are not gender assigned so the ladies have to have to hover over the urine that the men couldn’t seem to make inside the toilet because they forgot to lift the seat up. Men, do better.
