Plonk features some of the best food in Houston. Original recipes. High quality ingredients. Quirky staff. Truly a gem.

That said - IT'S NOT A KIDS PLACE. This isn't Chuck E Cheese. Screaming brats (and kids that won't sit still) simply don't belong here. It's a wine bar, people! Bring your significant other, friends, business colleagues, neighbors... but leave the little ones with the sitter....

We’re almost too embarrassed to admit this, but after living in the neighborhood our entire lives, my husband and I just visited Plonk! for the first time—and it’s been open for 16 years! How did we let this gem slip past us for so long?

From the moment we walked in, we felt like we’d stumbled upon a secret treasure. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and brimming with charm, making it the perfect spot for a special night out. We had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, Scott, who was as delightful and passionate as the food they serve.

Speaking of the food—wow! Every bite was a revelation. You can tell each dish is crafted with care, and the flavors were so well-balanced and memorable that we were savoring every moment. And the wine? Let’s just say it was the perfect complement to an already stellar meal.

The whole experience was incredible from start to finish. We left wondering how we’d waited so long to try this place, but we can promise you it won’t take us another 16 years to come back. If you haven’t been to Plonk! yet, run, don’t walk—you’re in for an unforgettable evening.

Plonk is, without a doubt, my absolute favorite restaurant. We’ve dined here more times than I can count, and it continues to compete with the top spots in Houston. It’s truly a hidden gem in the city, offering a unique, local vibe that is inviting and unpretentious. The food is consistently outstanding, the menu amazing, and every visit is a pleasure.

We love both dining in, especially on nights with cool weather, the patio is amazing! And we also habitually order to-go, when we want a cozy night in....

Plonk is a standout in the city, and we’re lucky to have it as our neighborhood go-to. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Houston!

This was my second time going and tried the chicken pot pie that was the best by far! It was served in this cute small cast iron pot. They have a large wine selection, great boards and the customer service was excellent. Also ordered the prosciutto pizza that really paired well with the wine. Will definitely go back to try the rest of their menu.

Came by for a Quick Tuesday Happy Hour and fell in love. The staff is so warm and accommodating. You feel like your are meeting old friends. The food is divine. Every dish feels like you are tasting heaven! Come by for a quick bite, a catch up with friends, or just to enjoy their immense selection of wines! Plonk yourself in!

As always, the crew here exceeds my expectations time and time again. I always enjoy the conversation with genuinely the nicest restaurant staff of anywhere I’ve ever been. I have just about tried everything on the menu by now and there is not one thing that I’ve tried that didn’t cause an explosion of flavor in my mouth. Each dish you can tell is carefully curated and the attention to detail is impeccable.
