Great atmosphere. The waiters are very knowledgeable and give great suggestions on spirits choices. This is a real bar, not a restaurant disguised as a bar. They do have charcuterie boards as food choices, but this is great because they keep the main thing the main thing, great drinks and great bar atmosphere.

The service was impeccable – the staff was attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel at home.Every drink we tried was crafted to perfection, and it’s clear that they take pride in their mixology. The menu is creative, and the attention to detail is unmatched. Whether you’re looking for a place to unwind with friends or celebrate a special occasion, Permission is the spot. This is a great place for whiskey enthusiasts. We stopped in and drank old-fashioned all night with a couple of cigars. The prices are not bad considering the quality of drink you're getting. If you haven't tried one, order a smoked old fashioned...it's a treat and quite a presentation. Honestly, I order these ever where I go, and it's one of the top 3 in town.

My friends and I have enjoyed visited Permission often, but most recently we had the pleasure of experiencing their hidden speakeasy James. The lighting is dark and sexy. It's perfect for a date or gathering with friends. We were greeted with a delicious welcome shot. I then tried the Midnight Martini. It came with some lovely chocolates. It was one of the best drinks I've had in Houston. I also enjoyed the espresso martini. I look forward to coming back on special occasions. :-)
