    What makes it fun

The Lanier Theological Library is a hidden gem. This stunning stone library, inspired by English architecture, is surrounded by lush gardens, peaceful walking paths, and a charming chapel—all perfect for a date steeped in serenity and intrigue. The library houses over 100,000 theological texts, making it an intellectual paradise for book-loving couples. Its warm interiors, cozy reading nooks, and gothic-style arches set the mood for quiet moments together. The library’s grounds feature a replica of C.S. Lewis’s Oxford study, offering a peek into the life of the famed author. Whether you’re browsing the bookshelves or strolling the grounds, this is a great spot to explore with your sweetheart.

I really enjoy attending the lectures at Lanier. The library hosts lectures that provide great insight towards Christian values and modern social issues. There is a great range in the age of attendees. The Q&A time is so helpful as we have questions during the lecture. Tonight’s presenter was thoughtful and had showed great relevance of her topic on C.S. Lewis to our modern world and current thoughts. If you have a chance, listen to Dr. Amy Orr-Ewing online from the library online. FYI. The parking at the library is great. All the work to accommodate more people and parking has been great.

Beautiful! I was there to admire the architecture and was not disappointed. I wish the whole property was accessible. I would pay to walk the property.

I am absolutely in love with this gorgeous and peaceful library so there are some key things I want to share:If you are a first time visitor, please be sure to call ahead and speak to the librarian who will take your information as they are limited in the spots available for visitors. And be sure to check their hours! Please be respectful of the rules and the space, it was so peaceful and quiet and should be protected as such.Be sure to bring a bottle of water and some snacks if you are staying for long periods of time, but be respectful of the space/ rules. The chapel closes at 5, but it is beautiful and worth a visit!

The whole compound is astonishingly beautiful! Breathtaking! Grounds well kept and buildings are picture perfect. The library is super quiet and inspiring to study/work. Perfect ambience. And it’s very easy to become a patron. You just need your picture ID and register at their library office.

Found this Lanier Theological Library from social media video and I was intrigued to visit. Since on weekends the library is closed, I had to visit on weekdays. So I chose one Tuesday to visit since only on Tuesday the library keeps open late till 9 pm.To visit there you have to wait at the gate and either call the library on phone or use the machine on the gate and let them know that you are there to visit the library. They will tell you where to park. Don't forget to bring your ID.The visiting experience was smooth. The library staff welcomed us and let us know how to interact while being within the library. We roamed around all the rooms. The seating arrangement is great. Saw some student came out after the scheduled lecture at the library. The whole library is decorated with books and documents of Archaeology, Biblical Studies, Church History, the DeadSea Scrolls, Egyptology, Linguistics, and Theology. The library also displays ancient artifacts like copies of Bible, scrolls etc. The library structure is just mesmerizing. On the premises, there is a stone chapel which is built as a replica of a 500 A.D. Byzantine chapel. Since it closes at 5 pm, we couldn't explore the chapel from inside. The chapel adjacent area looks like you are walking down an English village's cobblestone street. It is a private area, so check out for the private area signs. Would love to go back there again for sure to explore more!

No detail left undone. This place is absolutely stunning! I felt like I was walking through tiny villages of England. Cobblestone walkways wind around the charming grounds. Swans and rabbits have made their home here. The outside area is very inviting with several benches and areas for reading.Never have I been to a place that was so equally gorgeous inside and out. The wood work inside the actual library is breathtaking. I can’t wait to go back in the spring to see the beautiful trees show their vibrant blooms of color.I felt very solid during my visit to the library. I wish I had more time to see all the treasures inside. It is definitely a space for reflection and spiritual enlightenment. You must see this place!
