The food was different. The Chicken and Sausage gumbo didn't give me gumbo vibe. It tasted more like roast beef than chicken, and no andouille sausage. The chicken on a stick was good. The Blue Crab Bowl and Roasted Oysters were... interesting. Our waitress, Gigi, was delightful and patient.

The food was excellent. It's different, most everything is sharable and meant to be shared. We had a birthday party with 17 people. We chose this place because they are open late, we were definitely not disappointed with anything.

Had a unique and fantastic lunch. The service was amazing, and the food was delicious. The food has a uniqueness about and beautiful served.
They have a small but dog friendly patio.

This was our first time trying Josephine's. Everything was great. The only thing that I was not aware of was that during the time we came, which was a Sunday early afternoon, they were only serving their brunch menu. I had my eye on another dish, but I guess that means we will have to return at some point. Lastly, the service was amazing!

The food was great, it was slow but they had large groups. The negative was the rudeness of the host and some waiters / who gave the impression the guests were an imposition.

The turnip greens were amazing! First time i’ve eaten the root ball & enjoyed it. Excellent service. Food comes out fast & tasty. The oysters were so good. BBQ blue crab were interesting in a good way. Bartender crafted drinks based on my “feelings”. Highly recommend.

Came here for their solid happy hour - all cocktails are $8 and they are delicious - esp enjoyed the back yard bar and the watermelon black pepper one.

All the food we tried was delicious- we felt transported to new orleans! Highly recommend the red snapper dip, the biscuits, the crab fried rice, and the collars.

Unfortunately, we didnt enjoy dessert as much - we tried a couple pastries and none of them really hit a home run like the savory.

But looking forward to returning to this establishment- great service + vibes!

Amazing! We loved this place! Don’t leave without getting the biscuits — they are quite literally life-changing. Months later and my friends & I still talk about them.

Other than the biscuits, everything we had was delicious. I especially loved the blue crab rice, redfish dip, chicken skewers, gumbo, and offcuts. My favorite though was the seafood boil — I dream of the spices they coated our shrimp in! Even though we were full, we couldn’t skip their equally as good desserts too.

We came to Josephine’s after another great local restauranteur recommended this spot to us, which is how you know Josephine’s is legit in the Houston food scene. And the spot itself is beautiful with tons of windows, a great bar, and tons of space so you don’t feel crowded. Even the bathroom is nice! And the service is amazing too. Our server was very kind, giving us recommendations and even telling us a bit about the restaurant’s history.

Overall, this was easily one of our top restaurant visits in Houston. Thank you Josephine’s!

Josephine's appeared on a local TV show and I decided to take my father in law to lunch there for Father's day. We tried a few dishes based on the recommendation of the show. My 2 favorite items were an appetizer and dessert. I loved the the smoked redfish dip. Be sure to get an extra order of the saltines. We also ordered some gumbo, deviled eggs, snapper collar and some oysters (roasted and raw from different locations). We were so stuffed, but had to try the Barq's peanut pie...Fantastic.

Every dish we had here was unique but done well. The murderpoint oysters were fantastic. Absolutely enjoyed the baked/broiled oysters, and the hush puppies were great. The menu is seasonal so make sure to check what they’re offering before coming in. Service was good. Parking was a pain.
