The vibe is really good. The decoration is more Japanese style and every table is separated with the rest so it's good to gather around and chat. But the soup is overly sweet. Probably artificial flavor instead of true bonito

The banana tempura is a must try by anyone who comes here. Also the kake udon is a very cheap and tasty alternative for Niku udon

This Ishin Udon is the closest I have had to real authentic Japanese food. The takoyaki is the best I have had in Houston, the karage is unique and the curry udon tastes the same as the one I had in Japan. 10/10 great taste. What a hidden gem!

10/10 for the food, sukiyaki udon was so comforting, Karaage very authentic Japanese style, definitely going back to try more. The girl had really bad service, the guy was nice.

Ishin Udon is a true gem in Houston! From the moment we walked in, the warm wooden furniture and cozy ambiance set a welcoming and comfortable vibe, perfect for an udon spot.The food was incredible! The curry beef udon was flavorful, rich, and perfectly satisfying. The tan tan udon had a fantastic balance of spice and creaminess that left us wanting more. We also tried the chicken karaage, which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside—a perfect side dish to pair with the noodles.Prices were very reasonable, especially given the quality, and the service was impressively quick, making the whole experience seamless. We can’t wait to come back for another bowl of udon!
