The Houston Museum of Fine Arts is a great spot for a date with your art-loving sweetheart. Established in 1900, this cultural treasure is one of the largest museums in the U.S., boasting over 80,000 works spanning centuries and continents. From dreamy Impressionist paintings to jaw-dropping contemporary installations, every corner of the museum is brimming with awe-inspiring art works.
The staff was so friendly, from the moment I purchased my tickets to when we walked around the museum.
That said, managing your time is important since there are so many exhibits to see. Parking was easy during my first visit, but the fees were noticeably high.
While the art collection is extensive, I didn’t find many of the pieces particularly engaging. I was especially disappointed by the limited displays of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works—I had hoped for a larger selection.
