Once again I must say that it is an unspeakable experience.
The stage, the tenors, basses, baritones, sopranos, mesopranos were really very professional; The orchestra, as always, phenomenal, wonderful.
The Troubadour, like all classics, is a work where tragedy marks the lives of its characters with impressive outcomes.

This place is magnificent. I recently went to see the rehearsal for Sound of Music and had a great time. The building is big and elegant inside. They have food and drinks when you enter. The theaters inside are huge and have a great view.

I had the most wonderful time. Got a ticket to Madame Butterfly the night before and was seated in the upper balcony, front row center. Really couldn't see the upper stage area but all the action was up front. The sopranos were fantastic and their duets tearful and amazing. A great venue in a lovely plaza location. I look forward to my next trip to Houston and will definitely catch the opera.

Attending the Houston Grand Opera at the Wortham Center for the first time was an absolutely astonishing experience. The performance of Madame Butterfly was nothing short of mesmerizing, bringing the opera to life with vivid displays that immersed the audience in the narrative. The Chinese actor in the lead role exhibited exceptional vocal prowess, leaving the audience in awe.

The entire cast displayed a level of professionalism that held my attention throughout the performance; I couldn't take my eyes off the stage, not wanting to miss a single moment. The dedication and practice evident in the opera singers, sustaining such intricate and powerful performances over extended periods, truly showcased their commitment to their craft.

I am genuinely amazed by the talent and artistry witnessed, and I highly recommend this show to everyone. It's a testament to the incredible dedication of the opera singers, and I look forward to returning whenever Houston Grand Opera presents something new. Bravo to the entire team for an unforgettable evening of opera excellence.

It was a lot of fun, the acoustics are great. The signing is beautiful. The value for the money was excellent.

Houston Grand Opera is back at the Wortham!
Balcony is the best (and most reasonably priced) seating. You still have an amazing view. And it's better than the grand tier because the ceiling is lower in the grand tier which partially ruins the "grand"-feel of the show. It's also better than orchestra seating because of the viewing angle; you can see the whole stage better (less obstruction from those seating in front of you). And lastly, you can see the orchestra :)
One complaint is that it's freezing in there. I'm used to theatres being cold, but this had to be 40-50 degrees. Maybe it's colder higher up?
