The George Theater, home to the A.D. Players, is a large, modern facility that showcases area talent and multiple plays/musicals each year. Located in the Houston Galleria area, the George Theater is convenient to most of the city and is on one of the main streets, making it easy to find.
I have been to a few different plays at the George Theater and I continue to come away from the experience impressed even more each time. The theater itself is medium in size with comfortable seating and both a lower level and balcony. Views are good no matter where you sit, since no seat is very far from the stage. The digital sound and stage set up are all excellent and the service is outstanding. All of the personnel make sure that you feel welcome and they go out of their way to help with any questions you might have or any assistance you may need.
If you get hungry or thirsty, the George Theater serves drinks and snacks. You are not permitted to bring them into the theater, so be sure to finish them before you make your way to your seat. Another restriction is picture taking. You can’t take pictures during the shows, however you are free to snap a pic or two before the actual show, during intermission, etc.
The George Theater is an impressive size from the outside. You really can’t miss the large, stand- alone building. Another plus is the parking- the George Theater has its own parking lot with more than enough spaces for all, and the parking is free! All things considered, the George Theater is a hidden gem in Houston and a place that earns an easy five star rating.
